We have been blessed to be part of many weddings and workshops, as well as on-location shoots by various photographers, musicians, and television programs. Construction broke ground in September 2016, with the venue officially opening for its first wedding early 2018. Lieu De Grace is Best Wedding Venue in South Africa

When you book Lieu De Grace for your event, the venue will be available to you for a period of 14 hours ending at midnight (12:00PM), after which the boma area will be available to you and your remaining guests.

Your date and venue booking are finalised upon the receipt of your deposit fee. The balance will be due no later than one month before your event. A refundable damage deposit also applies.

The Reception Hall can host a maximum of 180 seated guests with a dance floor and 240 seated guests without a dance floor. The Greenhouse Chapel has a maximum capacity of 160. Parking is included for over 100 vehicles. Carpooling is recommended for larger events. UBER and Bolt does drop-offs and collections.

Yes. We believe that children add a touch of whimsy to any event, and we welcome your little guests. We only require that they be always accompanied or supervised by adults to ensure their safety.

Yes. At an additional fee, our staff will assist with the arranging of tables and chairs during setup and laying of crockery and cutlery on tables, as well as cleaning up after the event. This includes packing all decor items rented back into their boxes and clearing all tables.

Set up for your event may begin at 10:00AM on the day of your event, unless prior approval to start earlier is given by Lieu De Grace. Please allow enough time for set up, decoration and clean up within the contracted venue rental time.

All Lieu De Grace as well as external decor rentals and equipment must be removed and/or returned by 9:00AM the following day, unless other arrangements have been made in advance. No furniture may be left outside overnight.

Services that are not included in the venue hire fee include catering, DJ and entertainment services, certain crockery and cutlery hire, decor, flowers, event planning, etc. These will be delivered at an additional cost to you. Please get in touch for more information.

The venue fee includes the use of the Greenhouse Chapel, Reception Hall, grass and boma areas surrounding the reception hall, Bridal Suite, and Groom’s Suite, as well as selected furniture and decor items.

Unfortunately, no cash will be accepted for safety reasons, as Lieu De Grace is a cashless venue. A debit and credit card facility will be available for payment of bar tabs.

Guests can open a bar tab and hand in a personal item (which will be safely stored) as guarantee – this can either be their vehicle keys, credit card or driver’s license.
• Each guest receives a unique number which is printed on a slip twice. One slip is kept with their handed-in item, and the second slip is given to the guest.
• The guest must keep this slip throughout the night and place their orders with the waiter or bar by showing their unique slip number.
•Before leaving the event, the guest will hand in their slip, settle their tab and receive their personal handed-in item back.

Yes. You are welcome to supply your own decor, with the condition that no decorative item be displayed, nailed, stapled, or otherwise fastened in a way that may damage our structures or landscaping. We are also strict in upholding the venue’s image and do not allow certain types of decors, including draping, chair covers, etc.
Artificial petals or leaves, glitter, confetti, rice, fireworks, balloons, floating or flying lanterns and tiki-torches are unfortunately not permitted.

Sterilized birdseed, native flower petals, lavender buds, bubbles, and bio-rice are allowed, but only outside of the chapel.
